National projects

ALL TYPES OF PROJECTS
(STANDARD, POST-DOCTORAL)

  1. Call for Proposals.
  2. Submission of project proposal by on-line electronic system.
  3. Administrative and formal control of the proposal.
  4. Choice of reporters and external referees at the level of Panels.
  5. Obtain two objective reviews by Panel members and at least another one from a foreign reviewer per proposal.
  6. Panel discussion and ranking lists creation.
  7. Discipline Committees assembly the final rankings of proposals and making recommendations for awarding grants.
  8. Presidium decides on grant awards.

International projects

BILATERAL PROJECTS

  1. Call for Proposals for bilateral projects (on the basis of an agreement with the partner Funding Organization).
  2. Proposals for the Czech part of bilateral project are submitted by on-line electronic system at www.gacr.cz (deadline is specified in Call for Proposals).
  3. The foreign partner simultaneously submits a joint Proposal to the partner Funding Organization.
  4. Evaluation period starts immediately after the deadline. Only applications which meet all administrative and formal requirements are included into evaluation process.
  5. Choice of reporters and external referees at the level of Panels.
  6. Obtain two objective reviews by Panel members and at least another one from a foreign reviewer per proposal.
  7. Panel discussion and ranking lists creation.
  8. Discipline Committees assembly the final rankings of proposals and making recommendations for awarding grants
  9. The Presidium makes preliminary decision on awarding grant to Czech part of proposals and informs partner funding organization.
  10. The GACR Presidium decides on awarding grants based on result of evaluation process from partner funding organization. Grant can be awarded only after final approval from both research funding organizations (GACR and partner organization).
  11. The GACR Office will inform every applicant about awarding or not awarding grant.


EUROCORES

  1. Call for EUROCORES themes by ESF.
  2. International peer review process.
  3. ESF - publication of Call for Outline Proposals for selected EUROCORES programmes.
  4. GACR - publication of Call for Outline Proposal for selected EUROCORES programmes.
  5. The Czech applicant submits Czech part of the Outline Proposal to the GACR (together with a copy of the joint Outline Proposal submitted to the ESF).
  6. The main foreign applicant (the Project Leader) simultaneously submits the joint Outline Proposal to the ESF.
  7. Evaluation of Outline Proposals in the ESF.
  8. In case evaluation of Outline Proposal is positive, the Czech applicant submits Czech part of the Full Proposal to the GACR (together with a copy of the joint Full Proposal submitted to the ESF).
  9. The main foreign applicant (the Project Leader) simultaneously submits the joint Full Proposal to the ESF.
  10. Evaluation of Full Proposals in the ESF by an international Review Panel (RP).
  11. Announcement of the RP decision to the GACR.
  12. Decision on funding at national level and coordination with other foreign Funding Organizations.
  13. Decision of the GACR Presidium on grant award; positive evaluation on the part of the ESF does not guarantee grant awarding.

ECRP Subprogramme

Call for Proposals of ECRP Subprogramme is one-staged. The Czech applicant submits the Czech part of the Full Proposal to the GACR (together with a copy of the joint Full Proposal submitted to the ESF).

SCHEME OF THE RESEARCH NETWORKING PROGRAMMES

  • Call for Proposals for new Research Networking Programmes (July).
  • The evaluation process by the ESF Standing Scientific Committees.
  • Publication of the selected themes and their distribution to the Member Organisations of the ESF (July next year).
  • GACR - Call for application for the interested persons in the CR about the selected of the RESEARCH NETWORKING PROGRAMMES (August, September).
  • Decision of the Joint Commission of the GACR and AS CR on entrance into particular programmes (September).
  • Announcement to the ESF of joining of the GACR and AS CR the particular programmes (October).
  • Announcement from the ESF of launching of the particular programmes based on the expression of interest on the part of ESF Member organisation (the end of the year).
  • Launching of the successful programmes (1st half of the next year).
