Discipline Committees

Discipline Committees (DC) are permanent professional advisory bodies, which assist the Presidium. Committees have 10 to 25 members, who are selected on the basis of proposals by Czech institutions concerned with research and development and are named by GACR Presidium. Approximately one third of the members are changed every year.

Discipline Committees are set up in five general scientific areas. Panels are expert bodies for Discipline Committees. Total number of Panels is 39, approximately 450 experts work there. Members of all these Committees and Panels are top rank scientists, who are representatives of individual scientific fields, types of institutions and regions of the Czech Republic.

Together these Committees and Panels undertake the work of evaluating the grant proposals received. They prepare recommendation for the Presidium concerning awarding grants.
