The GACR Office

The GACR Office is the organisation and administration body of the GACR. It is managed by the Director, who is appointed and recalled by the President of the GACR.

The GACR Office consists of:

  • Scientific Affairs Departments (Technical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Medical and Biological Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities, Agricultural and Biological/environmental Sciences)
  • Department of International Relations
  • IT Department
  • Auditing Department
  • Finance Department
  • Secretariat of the President of the GACR
  • Secretariat of the Director of the GACR Office

Five Scientific Affairs Departments and Department of International Relations provide for the organisation of the evaluation process of submitted project proposals and the agenda for ongoing and completed projects.

Department of International Relations deals with all the international activities of GACR and projects within the framework of international cooperation. It provides coordination and logistic support as well as represents GACR in management committees of the international programmes.

IT Department is responsible for the database of the ongoing and completed projects. It is also liable for the electronic on-line submission system and on-line evaluation process of the project proposals.

Finance Department provides for a transfer of funds to the recipients of the grants, consulting for recipients and grant project researchers in financial matters, administers the budget of the GACR Office and provides for all related agenda.

Auditing Department monitors compliance with procedures and rules prescribed by the generally valid economic and legal regulations or by the GACR Guidelines. It controls economic management of recipients of grants.
